Racism by Mickayla Brandao

Whipped and beaten,
They don’t be eatin’.
Hit and hurt,
Whites treat’em like dirt.
Cries and screams,
They all had dreams.
Slaves cook and clean,
But y’all still so mean.
Ripped and torn,
Beaten since born.
It’s all a misery,
That’s back in history.
Scars for days,
Trying to escape the maze.
Loved by who?
People just told them what to do.
Families were separated,
People who were domesticated?
No you’re wrong,
I’m not gonna make this long.
Slavery is over they say,
No, It’s just done in a different way.
I know I’m not dreaming,
They have the same meaning.
Racism hasn’t gone away,
I hear it everyday.
No one is perfect,
But accepting society is worth it.
Our policemen are racist,
That’s why blacks have their guards up on an everyday basis.
We develop technology,
We agree with biology.
But we cannot accept others,
Who have different colored mothers.
Man, the words are the same,
Stop playing the racism game,
That’s so old, that’s so lame.
I’m done giving this speech I guess,
But y’all are gonna thank me the day after the next.
Racism will never be over,
Maybe when your great grandchildren are older.
