Families can register their students to get on-site COVID-19 testing in all ACPS schools as part of the work ACPS is doing to help keep students, staff and the community safe and reduce the spread of the virus.
ACPS is asking for families to voluntarily provide proof of the COVID-19 vaccination status for students age 12 and above. This information will assist schools with contact tracing and prevent any unnecessary quarantining of students who have been vaccinated.
ACPS has notified families and staff that the Thanksgiving Break will be extended this year by two days. All ACPS schools and offices will be closed Nov. 22-26.

Elena Gutierrez, Alison Avelar Rafailan, and Helen Russell’s film “Dear Mr. President: History, or Progress?” highlights the impact of discrimination and racism nationwide, with a special focus on the Alexandria community.
Amid much excitement, the Alexandria City High School (ACHS) Theater Department is hosting its first live performance since Fall 2019. The Fall show, “Facing Our Truth: 10 Minute Plays On Trayvon, Race, and Privilege,” is open to the public and premieres at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 5.
ACPS is seeking input from families, staff, and community members about the development of the 2022-24 school year calendars. A survey is available through November 5, 2021.
