Labyrinthine by Marcus Wohler

A web lays nestled in a homely crack
Star-spun so rudely divine in the frost
A lone strike brings the waiting owner back
Finding nothing he hastily retreats

That winter veil can be seen through at night
To great bullish lights and a star-strung threat
Warning to any who resolve to flight
Of felled unwinding plans that none defeat

The earth glitters with those star-flung masses
That have stopped the great Cretan armies cold
Frozen nectars in lords’ and ladies’ glasses
And caught all in a devious peace

The sun arches star-wrung cross the unwinding rack
So the earth holds fast to a palest hue
Coils itself into a homely crack
Bent upon itself a path of deceits
