Alexandria City High School offers 288 courses, and students are now in the process of choosing which courses they will take next year. Theogony spoke with nine elective teachers on the information students most frequently want to know to get a glimpse into some. These courses include AP Psychology, Criminal Justice, Governor’s Health, Ceramics, Automotive Technology I, AP Seminar/AP Research, Music Theory, Culinary Arts, and Cosmetology.

Conversation with Alexandria Local Band Hanoi Ragmen
Hanoi Ragmen is an Alexandria-based, six-member band known for its unique sound and rhythmic qualities. Its members include Gabriel Harr on rhythm guitar and vocals, Beck Moniz on bass and vocals, Max Powell on lead guitar and vocals, Nathan Argust on drums, and Kostia Howard on tenor saxophone. They are all 2019 graduates of Alexandria City High School (formerly T.C. Williams) and formed the group in 2018 during their time there. The members first met in middle school and were each associated with different musical groups before forming the final conglomeration of today. Girl Up-A Club to Empower Women
On Tuesday, October 26, Girl Up kicked off its first in-person meeting since 2019. In previous years, Girl Up has held its meetings through Zoom due to distance learning; and consequently, struggled to get outreach through an online setting. Now, with the implementation of the Lunch and Learn schedule and a five-day, in-person school week, Girl Up is finally able to have their meetings face-to-face.
