    There seems to be an honor society for every subject. Topics range from math to Latin to social studies, and according to the T.C. club website, there are seven currently active at T.C. (The National Honor Society is another honor society, but is not included in the club list.)

    Don Beyer Holds Town Hall at TC

    Congressman Don Beyer (D-Va.) held a town hall on the impeachment inquiry on November 21 in the auditorium. The inquiry deals with a July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Trump asked Zelensky to investigate his political rivals.

    The March to Success

    The T.C. Williams Marching Titans, under the direction of Timothy Grant and Douglas Rogers, work tirelessly to perform music at football games and competitions, but are often under appreciated for all their hard work. The band is seen at almost every home football game, and select away games, using their music to pep up the fans and the team. Their six to seven minute long halftime show, which has been perfected by work done throughout the entire summer, shows the great talent of the Marching Titans.

    Oceanographer Visits TC

    “We can not keep damaging the only planet we have, this is it. There is no planet B,” said Doctor Hernan Garcia. On November 22nd, Garcia visited TC and gave a presentation to a group of AP Environmental Science and Oceanography students. During his presentation, Garcia discussed the jobs of NOAA, his work there, and the consequences and possible solutions to global warming.

    Agenda Alexandria Examines Possible Solutions to Congested Schools Regina Allen Agenda Alexandria discusses overcrowding in Alexandria City Public Schools (APCS), specifically at T.C. Williams High School, with its first ever all-female panel. Panelists included ACPS Chief Operating Officer Mignon Anthony, ACPS Chief Academic Officer Terri Mozingo,  Junior Bridgette Adu Wadier, and Senior Mikaela Pozo. The discussion was moderated byEileen Rivera, a former School Board member.  In response to the overcrowding epidemic, the school board voted in September, six to three, against the creation of a second high school, and instead in favor of adding on to T.C.’s other campuses.     Athletic Director James Parker and Treasurer Lorena Reyes Contribute in Ways Large and Small Athletic Director James Parker James L. Parker lives and breathes sports. As athletic director, his job is to plan and schedule sporting events, manage the teams and coaches, and create fitness goals for T.C.  Parker was recently hired in August of 2018. He has lived in the state of Virginia for most of his life, attending Patrick Henry High School outside of Richmond. He wants to continue Alexandria City’s legacy of producing excellent athletes.
