Call For Artists to Participate in Earth Day Art Work Competition

Young artists are being sought to help publicize this year’s Earth Day celebration, hosted by the City of Alexandria on Saturday, April 29.

All ACPS students are invited to submit original, wordless artwork based on their interpretation of the theme “Clean water starts with YOU!” The selected artwork will be printed on all Earth Day T-shirts, posters, fliers, advertising to donors and will be featured on the City of Alexandria Earth Day website. The artist will be recognized in the Earth Day program.

A collection of submitted artwork will be on display at the Earth Day celebration and in Alexandria’s City Hall the week prior to the celebration.

The Earth Day Planning Committee will select the winning artwork based on creativity, content, composition and relationship to the message, combined with the artist’s explanation of his or her design.

Entries must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31.

Get details about the artwork guidelines and on how to submit your artwork.
