On Dec. 7, Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. sent a message via email to staff and families to remind our school community about ACPS school safety and security. In this video, Dr. Hutchings addresses ACPS’ commitment to taking the actions necessary to safeguard the physical well-being and mental health of our students and staff, and emphasizes that everyone in our school community plays a role in helping to keep our schools safe.
Gov. Ralph Northam launched his “Thank You, Virginia” tour at Alexandria City High School (ACHS) Monday, announcing that he will propose a two-year state budget with record funding for public education, including a 10 percent pay raise for teachers.
While our area has yet to experience much winter weather in the 2021-22 school year, ACPS has planned for the days when in-person instruction may not be possible. Ms. Browne has worked in education since 2006 and is experienced in HR competencies and strategies, including training, resource development and critical evaluation.
Alexandria City High School (ACHS) student Abdelrahman Abdelsadig has earned a full ride to college with the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship. The Class of 2022 senior joins two ACHS students from the Class of 2021 in achieving this honor.
