COVID-19 Vaccines Available for 5 to 11-year-olds

Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines are now available for five to 11-year-olds. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, previously approved for everyone over 12 years old, now has a version specifically made for children ages five to 11.

Superintendent’s Message to Students on Safety and Security

Following the Superintendent’s video message in the Dec. 10 ACPS Express and a previous email message to families on safety and security in schools, Dr. Hutchings recorded a video on safety and security that was shared with secondary students in school this week.

A Video Reminder from the Superintendent About School Safety and Security

On Dec. 7, Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. sent a message via email to staff and families to remind our school community about ACPS school safety and security. In this video, Dr. Hutchings addresses ACPS’ commitment to taking the actions necessary to safeguard the physical well-being and mental health of our students and staff, and emphasizes that everyone in our school community plays a role in helping to keep our schools safe.

ACPS Winter Weather Virtual Learning

While our area has yet to experience much winter weather in the 2021-22 school year, ACPS has planned for the days when in-person instruction may not be possible. The ACPS Express edition on Dec. 3 explained the winter weather decisions and communications so families understand the notification process and the continuation of learning during these unforeseen winter weather conditions.
