It is week four of the ACPS Finding Fit Spring Health Challenge: In Search of the Healthiest Bunch. Schools and departments are going head-to-head on a quest to find the healthiest bunch in ACPS. The challenge is designed to encourage healthy eating, vigorous physical activity and good sleep habits.

Did you meet the Hydration – 8 x 8 challenge last week? If so, keep the streak going this week by keeping your body well rested. If you did not stay as hydrated as you wanted to be, here is another opportunity to be good to your body.

This week’s challenge: 7 – 9 Hours of Sleep

We have all heard about the immense value of sleep. Experts recommend between seven and nine hours of sleep per night, which might be a real challenge for some. What do you need to shift in your day to enable you to get seven to nine hours of sleep? Once you have figured it out, circle the comfy-looking bed each day that you meet the challenge on the Spring Fitness Challenge Tracking Calendar (PDF).

At the end of the month, tally your points across all four weeks and turn in your worksheet to your Wellness Champion. Totals for each school and department will be calculated and winners will be selected based on the highest number of points and the highest percentage of participation at School and Central Office sites.

Anyone who has at least 20 points at the end of the challenge will be eligible to enter a drawing for prizes. Winners will be announced and prizes will be distributed at the ACPS Finding Fit Kickball Game on Thursday, June 8 at 3:30 p.m. Mark your calendar!
