This spring, ACPS Finding Fit, our employee health and wellness program, is launching a Spring Fitness Challenge to encourage healthy eating, vigorous physical activity and good sleep habits.

Beginning May 1, schools and departments will go head-to-head in a quest to find the healthiest bunch in ACPS by focusing on a different health and wellness-related activity each week. The challenge is really simple and fun!

The Challenge:

You will earn one point for each day that you complete the following weekly challenges:

Week 1 May 1 through 7 Nutrition Consume 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day
Week 2 May 8 through 14 Physical Activity Complete a lap around the school-designated mile course or complete 30 minutes of activity outside of school each day
Week 3 May 15 through 21 Hydration Consume eight 8 oz. glasses of water each day
Week 4 May 22 through 28 Sleep Log between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night

For each activity you complete, you will receive one point. At the end of the month, you will tally your points and turn in your worksheet to your Wellness Champion. Totals for each school and department will be calculated and winners will be selected based on the highest number of points and the highest percentage of participation at School and Central Office sites.

Building healthy habits is the goal, so anyone who has at least 20 points at the end of the challenge will be eligible to enter a drawing for prizes. Healthy students and staff is one of the goals of the ACPS 2020 plan.
