Reminder: No School for Students on October 9 – Professional Development Day

A reminder for parents and guardians … there is no school for students on Monday, October 9. What do you have in store for your kids?

Although there is no school for students that day, our teachers will be active learning all day as they engage in professional development opportunities.

ACPS is committed to developing, supporting and retaining a staff that meets the needs of every student. Professional development days are a necessary and important part of that commitment.

Our teachers will be learning about things like how best to:

  • integrate literacy in the arts
  • identify and support struggling readers
  • support students with disabilities
  • engage all world language learners to improve their speaking and writing proficiency
  • and much, much more

The result of this investment in our staff is outstanding teachers like these:
