First Superintendent Selection Community Forums Tonight

Tonight, Monday, September 11, ACPS is holding the first two in a series of four community forums to help inform the selection of the next superintendent.

The School Board is seeking input from the community in identifying the characteristics you would like to see in the next ACPS superintendent.

The same forum is being held in two places so that you don’t have to travel far to have your say. Tonight’s forums are at 7 p.m. at the George Washington Middle School Media Center and the John Adams Elementary School Media Center.

There are two more forums on Thursday, September 21 at 7 p.m. at the George Washington Middle School Media Center and the John Adams Elementary School Media Center.

The search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates will be leading the forums and asking for feedback to help create the leadership profile for the next superintendent.

You can also take the Superintendent Leadership Profile Survey to let us know what qualities are important to you. The survey is available in English, Amharic, Arabic and Spanish.

The survey is open to ACPS students, parents, community members and staff and is open through September 25.

The profile results will be presented to the School Board on Thursday, October 5 at a special called Board Meeting at 7 p.m. in the School Board Meeting Room at 1340 Braddock Place. This meeting is open to the public.

Members of the community may also give their input during the public comment portion of the September 14 and September 28 School Board meetings. Sign up to speak at a School Board meeting.
