Parent-Teacher Conferences Now More Accessible Than Ever Through ParentSquare

Parent-teacher conferences will be taking place all day on Thursday, September 29 and Friday September 30 at the Minnie Howard and King Street campuses. Conferences provide a time for parents and family members to meet with their student’s teachers and discuss any concerns or any questions they may have about their student or their schedule. Students will have the days of the conferences off in order to allow conferences to take place in-person during school hours rather than in the evening.

Parents can register for Parent-teacher conferences through ParentSquare. ParentSquare is an app that ACPS decided to implement in the school community as of August 2022. The app’s primary purpose is to centralize communication from teachers and staff members to parents. After joining the school’s page, Parent Square displays all the information sent out by the school and specific information pertaining to the children parent’s are registered for. ParentSquare can be viewed as a website on a computer or downloaded as an app on the smartphone.

In addition to allowing all school related information to be displayed in one specific location rather than many websites and emails, ParentSquare also eliminates any communication issues caused by a language barrier, since ParentSquare can be set to any language. All notifications and messages can then be shown in a person’s desired language, and any message typed to a teacher or staff member can be translated from the language the message was originally written to the preferred language of the recipient of the message.

Throughout the school year parents will be able to register for conferences, sign up for events, and receive notifications about their students and upcoming school events. Information on how to register for ParentSquare can be found on the ACPS website.
