    Choir Flies Higher for Superior Award

    On March 18 and 19, ACHS choir was judged on their tone, diction, dynamics, and more. On a scale of one to five, they received the best score in every category and later accepted their well-earned award. They were competing against other high school areas, such as Fairfax, Falls Church, and more, the 77 combined student choir won a one in each category, showing off their talents.

    Imagine ordering an Uber after a late night out with friends and seeing your teacher pull up. While the situation seems unlikely, many teachers work side jobs to make a living. Teachers are some of the hardest working members of society, so why are they underpaid? Forty Alexandria City High School teachers participated in a survey about teacher pay and side jobs, and the results were illuminating.

    Titan Robotic to Worlds

    Alexandria City High School’s Robotics team made it to the FIRST Robotics Championships in Houston, Texas. The team was founded in 2015, and this will be their second championship trip, their first being the 2019 World Championship in Detroit, Michigan, where they qualified by winning the Engineering Inspiration award.

    Lady Titans Open Season with Victory, 18-15

    On Tuesday, March 14, the ACHS Girls Varsity lacrosse team beat the Edison Eagles, 18-15 at home.  The leading scorers were senior, Kate Holley with 7 goals; senior, Tess Lundgren with 4 goals; and, junior, Aaliyah Royster with 2 goals. Holley, Royster, Hannah Meehan, Annika Eelkema, and Leela Trujillo each had 1 assist. Head Coach Greg Derogatis commented, “We had consistent effort and hustle throughout the contest and we regained our poise and control of the game in the final minutes to seal the victory.
