Saturday, May 21st may have been one of the hottest days of the year a 97 degrees, but the ACHS Orchestra was even hotter!  They swept all prizes at Kings Dominion’s “Music In the Parks” festival. They won 1st place with a superior rating. They received “Best Overall Orchestra,” and the Esprit De Corps award. This award is given to students who demonstrate superior behavior and for demonstrating good sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Orchestra director Veronica Jackson says, “This is an inspirational win for us because of the busyness of the month of May! It is rewarding to see how the students responded to the call to perform. It was truly a team effort. I am very proud of the students!”
