On January 14, 2022, The Lumineers came out with their newest album “BRIGHTSIDE.” This is their fourth studio album. The Lumineers is a band of two; Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano). The Lumineers new album consists of nine new songs: BRIGHTSIDE, A.M. RADIO, WHERE WE ARE, BIRTHDAY, BIG SHOT, NEVER REALLY MINE, ROLLERCOASTER, REMINGTON, and REPRISE. In total, the album is 30 minutes long.

The album “BRIGHTSIDE” has a euphoric yet mellow soundtrack that brings an untroubled sound to the listener’s ears. The Lumineers sing about a loved one who is feeling numb in the world they are living. Throughout all the songs in this album the emotions of the singers are shown through the strumming on the guitar and the notes coming from the piano. The album’s songs are portrayed from the perspective of someone who truly cares for a loved one in their life and is very eager to help guide them through their momentary problems.

The first time listening to the album it provided a beat that caused people to not stop listening. Every one of the songs has a hypnotizing beat from the drums that makes you want to keep listening. A stand out song in the album was “WHERE WE ARE.” Throughout the many times listening to this album “WHERE WE ARE” has proven to be a song for anytime in your life because of the gripping lyrics and beat. The lyrics portray that even if you are lost and confused in life you are not alone and that it will be ok. This song also perfectly explains the feeling of being a burden and thinking like you’re not wanted or cared about when you are being yourself.

These songs on the album fit any mood or occasion at any time. The album “BRIGHTSIDE” is a relatable album that one could listen to on repeat for hours and not get sick of the songs with their beautifully enchanting lyrics and beat. “BRIGHTSIDE” has taught listeners to be whoever I want to be regardless of other people’s opinions. This album will always be a soundtrack playing in the back of every listener’s mind.
