Senior Caroline Peterson scored a goal early in the second half to secure the victory for T.C. “It was really exciting to beat West Po this year,” said Peterson.

Five members of the field hockey team received First Team All District this year. Peterson, along with seniors Lilly Church, Savannah Keough, Charlotte Russell, and Sophie Moniz were all given this award. Moniz, who is the team’s starting goalie, was given Gunston District Player of the Year.

Field hockey went undefeated in the district this season, and had a record of 10-5.

The team lost 2-1 to W.T. Woodson in the Occoquan Regional Semifinals.

Volleyball

The Titans Volleyball team is now a part of history. The team won its first district championship since the gensis of the program against West Potomac.

The team is led by seven seniors who have deep ties to the program; most have been playing since eighth and ninth grade.

Amongst those seniors is captain Caroline Schie who is its first team all district outside hitter and virtually never comes off the court.

“We came in as underdogs against West Po, who were the back to back champions for the district,” said Schie. “To take down the top team on the road and gain the first ever district championship for the program is the best way to go off as a senior. The whole team’s work ethic cannot go without notice we have worked har–from six a.m. workouts to practice everyday–to push ourselves to be the best team we can be.”

“This is definitely the closest team I have ever been a part of,” said Senior Riley Casagrande, “We all love each other so much and I think that shows in how we play.”
