🎓 She made it. Monet Oppong is graduating from @tcwtitans after coming from behind and taking 12 classes in one year – nearly twice the usual amount – to get enough credits for her diploma. After years of personal setbacks and distractions – health issues, home life, friends – Monet came into senior year owning up to her past mistakes and determined to graduate. A GED wouldn’t do. She and her counselor Ms. Brewster devised a rigorous course plan for her senior year, including online classes. “They called it a Hail Mary pass.” Many didn’t think she could do it, but she was determined to prove them wrong. With resilience and a lot of prayer, she did. 🙌 And now she’s set on getting into her dream school @olddominionu and getting a fresh start, no matter what or how long it takes. “College is a privilege. It’s not just given to you. I want to show them I’m worthy of it.”
