Joining the ACPS staff as the new director of maintenance and custodial services is Amanda Ou

Ou has been supporting the renovation and maintenance of educational facilities since 2015. She previously served as the manager of the Facility Management team for DC Public Schools. In that position, she had experience with the maintenance of all DCPS schools and worked very closely with custodial services to support school needs. She also has worked with school leaders and key stakeholders as it relates to planning and managing capital projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University (JMU). In her role at ACPS, Ou will oversee the areas of maintenance, custodial services, warehouse operations, work order support, and facility use for the division. 

ACPS is welcoming Dr. Jasmin Whitfield as our new director of school health services. Dr. Whitfield has most recently served as the director of health services for the Sidwell Friends School, overseeing the school nurse team on its campuses, providing support to broad health and wellness programming, and supporting the development and implementation of health policies. Prior to this role, she was a school nurse at Sidwell Friends. Dr. Whitfield worked closely with D.C. and Maryland health departments to develop Sidwell Friends’ protocols and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also been a nurse in non-school settings throughout her career and currently teaches for Benedictine University in their Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Executive Leader Concentration program. Dr. Whitfield earned her doctoral degree from Rush University in Chicago, and holds additional degrees from Hunter College and Niagara University, both in New York.
