CETA at Charles Barrett
- Kudos to Staff

Nine teachers from ACPS have become certified in the Kennedy Center’s Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) program.

Two teachers from Charles Barrett Elementary School and seven teachers from John Adams Elementary School underwent the intensive training in order to be able to use the techniques to bring the arts into their classrooms.

The program, which is designed, run and sponsored by the Kennedy Center, demonstrates that arts integration or teaching through the arts can have a positive impact on student creativity and student engagement.

John Adams and Charles Barrett are among only seven schools in the D.C. region to have the CETA program. The teachers who received certifications are as follows:

  • Katie Cherry
  • Jennifer Landis

From John Adams
