This week’s highlighted courses:

Teaching Across Cultures – Family Reunification
This interactive and dynamic two-part workshop introduces participants to multiple perspectives of family reunification after family separation that many of our students face due to immigration, foster care, incarceration, divorce and military service. Participants will review factors impacting the process of reunification and receive a toolkit to help students and their families to have a better outcome. In addition, participants will receive handouts describing the strategies and worksheets guide their activities inside and outside the classroom. The workshop will be divided into two sessions during which information will be presented then practiced in small groups. #14541 

The Development of Speech, Language and Social Skills in Preschool and Elementary-Aged Children
Parents and staff will gain an understanding of the development of speech, language, play and social skills in young children. They will also learn strategies to stimulate speech and language at home and in the community. #14636 

Crisis Intervention Training
Participants will receive instruction in the Crisis Prevention Institute methodology of crisis prevention that emphasizes early intervention and non-physical methods for managing disruptive behavior. Participants also receive instruction in restraint positions, transport techniques, and team strategies. #14346
