New to ACPS Special Education Teacher Training
What are the ACPS procedures and guidelines for teaching in special education? Learn how to schedule and organize your school year to meet all individualized education program and eligibility timelines. Learn the process to determine extended school year program eligibility in accordance with Virginia Department of Education guidelines. #14968 

Reading and Writing Workshop Twitter Sessions
How can we refine our implementation of Reading and Writing Workshop to better support our learners? How can we learn from colleagues who are implementing Reading and Writing Workshop? During these sessions, ACPS teachers will engage in professional discourse about how to use a workshop approach to teach students to increase their reading and writing proficiency. The Twitter chats are facilitated by staff developers from Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Teachers across the country will engage in the discussion. By the end of the session, all participants will be able to create or claim one new strategy to help them in reaching students as they implement Reading and Writing Workshop. This is an online workshop (no in-person meeting). #15070

Citywide Paraprofessionals Training Series
What specialized techniques can be used to enhance the instruction for students with severe disabilities in ACPS citywide programs? This training will provide opportunities to refine skills using applied behavior analysis and other evidence-based practices for students with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities & autism who are in ACPS citywide programs. #15200
