iDashboard Adds New Layer of Accountability

ACPS launched its iDashboard this week, adding an extra layer of accountability and transparency to its presentation of numbers.

The iDashboard provides a way for the public to look at division-wide enrollment and performance data in an interactive and easily consumable way. It also allows the public to see how ACPS is progressing in line with the ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan and benchmarks set by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The idea behind the iDashboard is to be able to measure in hard facts how every student is succeeding. In the future, the iDashboard will include metrics that relate directly to the ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan.

“The launch of the iDashboard reflects a new level of accountability and transparency regarding our data. Through this we will be able to measure our successes and easily identify the areas that still need working on. This is a new era for ACPS data,” said Marya Runkle, Director of Education and Business Applications in Technology Services.

The iDashboard shows five main areas:

  • Individual School Demographics
  • Division-Level SOL Results
  • Attendance and Suspension Information
  • On-Time Graduation Information
  • AP/SAT Information

The iDashboard is one more step in ensuring effective and efficient business operations across ACPS, as outlined in the ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan.

“Having a strategic goal such as Effective and Efficient Operations in the 2020 plan demonstrates the importance of transparency in everything that we do. ACPS must gain and maintain the confidence of our community, our staff and our students in order to grow Alexandria’s financial investment in its children,” said Superintendent Alvin L. Crawley.
