Nominate Your Math and Science Teachers for President’s Award

Families are being asked to nominate science and math teachers for this year’s Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).

Teachers from kindergarten through sixth grade are eligible for the award, which is the nation’s highest honor for teachers of mathematics and science.

Winners receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation and the chance to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities in Washington, D.C. Recent winners got to meet with President Barack Obama.

PAEMST was established by Congress in 1983. It authorizes the President to select up to 108 awards each year.

Nominate one a teacher for the PAEMST award by visiting the PAEMST website. Multiple nominations are welcome if you know more than one teacher deserving of this award.

The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2016.
