ACPS welcomes all community members, partners, students, faculty and leadership to join Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. for an online webinar featuring the first annual State of the Schools event at 6:30 p.m. on Tues., March 1, 2022. The event will be live-streamed from the Alexandria City High School (ACHS) auditorium, which will have limited seating available for some community partners and ACHS students. Simultaneous interpretation will be available in Spanish, Amharic and Arabic.

At this event, Dr. Hutchings will address the status of the ACPS 2025 Equity For All Strategic Plan and the 2021-22 Areas of Focus, which include social emotional and academic learning recovery, Hispanic males, middle school educational experience, Early College and the talented and gifted program. Also, continuing work carried forward from the 2020-21 school year includes strategic plan implementation, the policy equity audit and the implementation of students with disabilities plan.

Have a question on one of these topics? We will include a Google form in the Feb. 18 issue of Express for students, families and staff to submit questions by Feb. 25, 2022 (the online form will close at 11:59 p.m. that day). During the event, Dr. Hutchings will reply to as many as possible of the most frequently asked questions, as well as take questions from the students present.
