All ACPS students can receive free meals in school through June 30, 2022. Breakfast and lunch options will be available to all students as a way to help families struggling with the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are no eligibility requirements or paperwork required to access the free meals in schools during the 2021-22 school year.

ACPS families whose financial status makes their students eligible for free meals in schools are still encouraged to submit the Application for Free and Reduced Price Meals because this information can be used for other state or federally-funded benefits such as Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) funds, and the waiving of test fees, college application fees, and sports fees.

ACPS students enrolled in Virtual Virginia for fall 2021 are also eligible for free meals. Meals can be picked up at the Alexandria City High School Minnie Howard Campus from 9-10 a.m. on Mondays (for Monday/Tuesday meals) and on Wednesdays (for Wednesday/Thursday/Friday meals).

ACPS Virtual Virginia students requesting meals must sign up through the Virtual Virginia Meal Request form. On this form you will choose whether to pick up meals in person, or you may choose to have meals delivered to you. All ACPS Virtual Virginia students requesting meals will be verified, so preauthorization and sign up must be completed first for the meals to be provided.

A limited number of meal deliveries are available to ACPS Virtual Virginia families at this time and are being carried out on a first-come, first-served basis. Once we reach capacity for home deliveries, you will be redirected back to the link to sign up to pick up meals in person at the Minnie Howard Campus on the scheduled days and hours noted above. Meal deliveries will begin Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021.
