Alexandria City Public Schools Named as Seventh Best School Division in Virginia

Alexandria City Public Schools has been named as the seventh best school division in Virginia, according to a rankings website that rates school systems based on teaching statistics and feedback from students and parents.

Niche.com, a ratings company, released its 2016 list of the best school systems this week. It ranked thousands of school systems based on dozens of statistics and opinions from 300,000 students and parents.

School divisions are ranked according to state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT, scores, ACT scores, teacher quality and student and parent reviews.

T.C. Williams High School received an A grade from the website and was listed as number 35 out of the top 100 high schools in Virginia.

Overall, Virginia school systems finished 11th in a national 2015 ranking by WalletHub.
