Senior Madeline Waldhoff advanced to become a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. This distinction results from Waldhoff’s performance on the PSAT test, administered in eleventh grade. 50,000 of the 1.5 million test takers qualified for initial recognition. Around 2/3 of those students received Letters of Commendation while the other third qualified as Semifinalists.
After students qualify for the Semifinalist round, they submit a National Merit Scholarship application. Of the 16,000 Semifinalists, 15,000 advance as Finalists. Waldhoff is the only T.C. student to qualify as a Finalist. Over half of Finalists will receive merit scholarships.
