2018-19 Academic Calendar Committee Seeks New Members

The process to develop the 2018-19 academic calendar is getting underway. Would you like to have a say in its development?

The Academic Calendar Committee is seeking members to participate in the process. This committee will finalize drafts of the traditional and modified calendars that will inform discussions between the interim superintendent and school board when approving the calendar for 2018-2019.

The committee will hold two or three 90-minute meetings to develop and recommend a draft academic calendar for the Superintendent to present to the School Board. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 11 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at ACPS Central Office in Room 510-1. Future meetings will also be scheduled on Wednesdays at that time.

The committee’s work will be complete when the School Board approves the ACPS academic calendars, tentatively scheduled for December 2017.

If you are a parent or staff member (or both) and have interest in participating, please email Jim Loomis.

Not able to participate in the committee? Community members will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the drafts of the calendar through an online survey later in the process. Stay tuned.
