Alexandria City Spring and Summer Camp Registration Open

Summer of Smiles Guide 2017Registration for 2017 City of Alexandria Spring and Summer Camps offered by the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities is now open. Registration for summer programs and the Power-On Program for the 2017-18 school year will open on Wednesday, March 15 for City residents.

Participants may register online or in-person at the Lee Center Registration & Reservation Office, 1108 Jefferson Street.

The 2017 Summer of Smiles Summer Camps Guide is now available online and free printed brochures are available at City Hall, recreation centers, and public libraries located throughout the City. The Summer of Smiles Summer Camps Guide contains a variety of camps available to youth ages 2-17, including sports, dance, creative arts, computer, chess, enrichment, nature, adventure, Out of School Time (residents only) and classic camps. To make summer planning even easier, a Summer Fun Finder index lists camps available by week offered and age group.

Registration is also open for spring break camps taking place April 10 – 14 when Alexandria City Public schools are closed. For more information about spring or summer camps, please contact the Registration & Reservation Office at 703.746.5414.

Make A Splash: City of Alexandria Presents Family Fun Nights for All Ages

Bring the whole family to Family Fun Nights for swimming and fun for all ages on Friday evenings at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility, 3210 King St. Enjoy swimming, beach ball and aqua basketball, and a floating obstacle course. Pool safety tips and swimming skills assessments for youth. Light refreshments will be served. Each event features a different ACPS school but all are welcome to attend. The cost of admission to each event is $4 per person. For more information about the events and cancellation due to inclement weather, visit the City’s event calendar.
