We had a wonderful time celebrating Alexandria City Essential Workers Appreciation Week (March 13-20) with an event at Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology to thank our essential workers. We also appreciated the expressions of gratitude on social media for our firefighters, police officers, health care professionals and school staff. In addition to learning through career presentations and activities that taught safety skills, students showed their appreciation by presenting cards to the essential workers.
Thank you to everyone who participated in saluting our teachers, school custodians, food services workers, bus drivers and monitors as well as our police officers, sheriff personnel and firefighters.
