Alexandria City High School (ACHS) Librarian Laurel Taylor has been selected as one of two participants sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) in the American Library Association’s (ALA) 2022 Emerging Leaders program. She will join a group of her peers as the program kicks off virtually during LibLearnX. The Emerging Leaders program enables librarians from across the country to participate in problem-solving workgroups, network with peers and have an opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity. Taylor is one of three librarians at ACHS and was an English teacher for more than 10 years. She says her greatest accomplishment as a school librarian is providing resources to students who are eager to learn more.

Following a kickoff session of the Emerging Leaders program, participants will collaborate with their peers in an online learning and networking environment. Their work will culminate with a poster session during the 2022 ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
