Gladis Bourdouane has over 20 years of proven communications and public engagement experience in developing high-impact, district-level initiatives, using a multi-faceted approach. Through her work, she has strived to ensure all voices are heard, focusing on two-way engagement. At ACPS, she will oversee web and digital communications, audio-visual services, and project management for various initiatives. She will also act as the communications liaison to the community engagement and capital planning teams.

Bourdouane immigrated to the Washington D.C. area 40 years ago from El Salvador and is passionate about building and maintaining strong ties within the region’s diverse community. As a trusted advocate of racial equity in public education, she is dedicated to community service. She has served as a board member for AHC, a non-profit developer of affordable housing in Northern Virginia, the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents of the Nation’s Capital Region (ALAS DMV), Edu-Futuro, and Latinas Leading Tomorrow. She is also a member of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) and the Chesapeake Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (CHESPRA).

Before joining ACPS, Bourdouane worked with Arlington Public Schools (APS) as a project manager in the Department of Planning and Evaluation where she focused on major district-level initiatives. Prior to that role, she was the coordinator for family engagement and public information at APS where she focused on the creation and dissemination of essential and emergency information to diverse audiences.
