Welcome Fredericka Smith, New Administrator of the High School Satellite Campus

- ACPS

ACPS is pleased to welcome Fredericka Smith as the next campus administrator for the Satellite Campus of Alexandria City High School (ACHS). Smith joined T.C. Williams High School (now ACHS) in 2016 as an assistant principal and, in this capacity, has worked with the Learning Academy Team to ensure successful matriculation of students through high school and into their post-secondary journeys. She has also served as content administrator for the school’s science department.

Smith began her career in education as an assistant principal in middle school and high school in Charlotte, N.C., and has also served as a special education teacher in both Charlotte and in Columbia, S.C. She holds a bachelor of science in special education from the College of Charleston and a master of education degree in educational leadership from the University of South Carolina.

Smith considers the highlight of her time in ACPS to be working with staff and students in the Minority Student Achievement Network (MSAN), which engages students in conversations about equity and ways to address inequities within their school community. She works to create and/or maintain structures that embrace and empower all students. She believes in servant leadership as her guiding principle as a school leader, and her focus is on always putting students first. We are excited to have her serve as the new administrator for the satellite campus.
