Licensed teachers who would like to change schools within ACPS in time for the 2017-18 school year can begin the application process this week.
Applicants should email their resume directly to the principal of the school where there is a listed vacancy. The Principal will consider applicants and schedule interviews accordingly.
All interviews for all vacancies on listed in the initial posting will be conducted at Minnie Howard on Wednesday, March 8 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
The deadline for emailing resumes to the Principals to be considered for this initial list of transfer opportunities is close of business on February 24, 2017.
Teachers who miss the initial date or wish to continue to apply to transfer can continue to apply for positions as they become vacant up until the transfer deadline date of July 15. Vacancies which are identified and advertised after this initial posting will be posted publicly on the ACPS website and available to both internal and external applicants. Past practice of allowing staff to apply in anticipation of positions becoming vacant is no longer permitted.
Please note: If a candidate is selected for more than one position, it will be their choice as to which they select. The last day for teachers to transfer is July 15, 2017.
STEPS TO APPLY:
- Review the vacancy list and find a position for which you wish to apply.
- Email a resume to the principal, or school administrator who is designated as the point of contact for the position.
- Include the words Transfer Application and the vacancy number in the email subject line
TIMELINE:
February 6: Transfer vacancies posted
February 24: Initial application period closes
March 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.: All initial interviews will take place at the Minnie Howard Transfer Fair
March 15: Deadline date for principals to submit their selections to HR
March 18: Successful applicants will be notified
March 22: Deadline for those selected to notify HR of their decisions
March 31: Those not selected will be notified
