Are you a 10 or 11 month employee? Then we have news you can use.
With the end of the school year approaching, this is a reminder that for 10 and 11 month employees, the deductions for the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) pension plan and basic life insurance will not be taken out of your paychecks during the summer months (July and August for 10-month employees; July for 11-month employees).
Deductions will resume during your next contract period, from August 15 pay (for 11 month employees) or September 15 pay (for 10 month employees) through June 30, 2018.
