The Development of Speech, Language and Social Skills in Preschool and Elementary-Aged Children
Parents and staff will gain an understanding of the development of speech, language, play and social skills in young children and learn strategies to stimulate speech and language at home and in the community. #14636 

Literacy Interventions for Striving Readers: When Readers Struggle
Participants will learn best practices for supporting striving readers, with specific study of research-based strategies in “Interventions that Work,” by Linda Dorn, “When Readers Struggle,” by Fountas and Pinnell, and “Reading Pathways,” by Lucy Calkins. Participants will receive a refresher on gathering and analyzing formative assessment data, including running records, and then review how to apply that data to design instruction within the ACPS protocols for Customized Tier II Small Group Differentiated Instruction and Tier III Specialized and Intensified Differentiated Instruction in Reading. This program is designed for K-5 educators. #14723
