October 2 is National Custodian Day. This day recognizes the people who work diligently to keep our schools and workplaces clean and in tip-top shape. Since the onset of the pandemic, our ACPS custodial services team has been on the front lines to ensure that our facilities receive the proper sanitation, disinfection and enhanced cleaning for safe environments.

“ACPS is very proud of our custodians. Our custodial services team has continually worked hard and pivoted during pandemic operations, supporting multiple iterations of distancing formations and set ups, installation of safety signage, distribution of personal protective equipment, and completion of enhanced disinfection practices. We are grateful for their commitment and contributions every day,” said Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr.

Executive Director of Facilities and Operations Dr. Alicia Hart added, “Our ACPS custodial services team ensures our buildings are safe and healthy. Although their work often occurs behind the scenes, they provide essential support so our facilities can run smoothly. I am immensely proud of our custodians and their continued dedication to providing excellent customer service.”

In recognition of National Custodian Day, we show our appreciation to the ACPS custodians who clean our schools and offices and are an integral part of our community.
