Here is your chance to spread the good word about ACPS and help shape the public profile of our schools. GreatSchools.org is a resource used by parents to evaluate and compare schools. It hosts profiles with ratings and reviews of schools from across the country, but their scores do not tell the whole story. Community reviews help to create a more holistic view of each school’s culture and learning environment.
Here is how you can help:
- If a parent or community member shares a positive experience, ask them to go to GreatSchools and spread the word.
- Share information about GreatSchools during parent-teacher conferences and in informal settings.
- Encourage parents and community members to rate their experience with your school and staff on GreatSchools.
In addition to rating one’s overall experience, parents can rate a school on how well it develops various desirable characteristics in students and the effectiveness of teachers. Users can even share kudos about teachers, staff members, school leaders and others.
It is as easy as 1-2-3! Here’s how to review a school:
- Visit GreatSchools and search for your school.
- Scroll down to the “Reviews” area and select the blue “Review this school” button.
- Select the number of stars that represents the rating of the school and share why in the comment box. You can also scroll through additional areas on which to rate the school using the “previous topic” and “next topic” links above the rating box.
If you are a parent of an ACPS student, in addition to being a staff member, take a moment to rate your school and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.
