ACPS is Moving to Electronic Flier Distribution

- News and Announcements

ACPS has transitioned from paper to electronic flier delivery for outside organizations.

Except in cases deemed exceptional by the Office of Communications, paper fliers from outside organizations will no longer be distributed.

Electronic fliers allow us to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, be mindful of the time it takes for our staff to distribute paper fliers and maintain fiscal responsibility.

Outside organizations include parent-teacher organizations, booster clubs, government organizations, approved community partners, non-profit organizations who promote the general public interest and educational welfare of students, and patriotic organizations and youth groups as designated under federal and state law.

How will efliers be distributed?

  • Efliers will be posted on the ACPS and school websites for one week each
  • Efliers will appear in ACPS Express and school e-newsletters

This is an automated process and no effort is needed on behalf of the e-newsletter editors at each school.

What is the process for organizations to distribute fliers?

Organizations should visit www.acps.k12.va.us/peachjar to see the full list of instructions and approval criteria. The following is a brief overview of the process:

To distribute efliers to schools, all organizations must:

The flier will be automatically submitted to the ACPS Office of Communications. Staff will review the material and approve or deny based on the standards.

There is a small fee to the organizations for this process, typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper fliers to each school.

How will organizations know about this?

The Office of Communications will be distributing information to known organizations, will send schools postcards with instructions to hand out to their community organizations, and will let ACPS families know about the change so they know where to look for information.

Will school fliers be sent out in this way too?

No. Fliers that come from the school or ACPS may still be distributed in paper form. For digital distribution, schools should copy the information from the flier and paste it into the school’s e-newsletter rather than using Peachjar.

What about PTAs?

Yes, PTAs and booster organizations should use Peachjar, however they will be exempted from the fees. Also, PTAs and boosters may still request to distribute paper fliers.
