Sequels, Marvel Stage 5 and Disney adaptations will soon be filling our theaters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year is rich with sequels, trilogies or fully formed franchises. Two Marvel trilogies, <em>Antman and the Wasp Quantumania <\/em>and <em>Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3,<\/em> are gaining their third parts. Both have been well received in the past and are among students&#8217; most highly anticipated movies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c[Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3] is part of an overarching story, and it&#8217;s been several years since the last installment,\u201d said senior Owen Maccubbin, \u201cso I\u2019m curious to see what comes next.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DC is also releasing the second Aquaman movie, <em>Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, other large franchises are adding installments in 2023, such as <em>Indiana Jones 5<\/em> and <em>The Fast and The Furious 10<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disney is also having a big year with the releases of <em>Peter Pan and Wendy, Disney&#8217;s<\/em> <em>Haunted Mansion<\/em> and the long-awaited live-action <em>Ariel<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDisney&#8217;s live-action interpretations of movies can be very hit or miss, and I would love to find out which one <em>Ariel <\/em>will be,\u201d said junior Maikol Centeno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year is rich with revivals of well-known stories and characters. Greta Gerwig&#8217;s highly anticipated <em>Barbie<\/em> takes a new spin on a long-loved character. Likewise, Rhys Waterfield\u2019s <em>Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey<\/em>, is an adaptation of the newly public domain classic Winnie the Pooh stories.<em> The Super Mario Bros. Movie<\/em> is also coming out this year, boasting a star-studded cast with Chris Pratt, Jack Black and Anya Taylor-Joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s a big year for actor Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet with the releases of the long-awaited <em>Dune Part 2<\/em> and the unique <em>Wonka. <\/em>Both films have long trials of books and films\u2014 some well-received and others not as much\u2014 but we\u2019ll just have to wait and see what this year&#8217;s adaptations bring to the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The year is certainly not a boring one for movie aficionados, and even those who don\u2019t keep up with every new release are sure to find something to enjoy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After two years with a slowly rejuvenating movie industry, 2023 is bursting with many long-awaited titles.
