Wisdom Williams won the discus and shotput events with the scores 137-4 and 47.050 respectively. Joshua Peterson won the long jump with a score of 24-10. David Coles won the triple jump with a score of 48-2.50.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Teresa Henderson, Track &amp; Field coach for ACHS, said \u201c It was great to see their goals come into fruition.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about their training schedule, she said that the students had practiced \u201cfive to six days a week,\u201d and that their training \u201callowed them to peak at the right time.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Often a problem for student-athletes is balancing school work and training. This year she won both the discus and shotput events. When asked about being a state champion, she said \u201cIt\u2019s amazing, knowing that the hard work that I&#8217;ve put into my sport all year has finally paid off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Williams said she practices \u201cevery day, from 4-7 PM.\u201d With having practice every day for 3 hours, Wisdom said she sometimes has trouble balancing sports and school, \u201cIt\u2019s not always easy, but I try to mentally separate the two, by focusing on school while I\u2019m at school and focusing on practice while I\u2019m at practice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/theogony\/2021-2022\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_1820.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-433\" width=\"838\" height=\"629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/theogony\/2021-2022\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_1820.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/theogony\/2021-2022\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_1820-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/theogony\/2021-2022\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_1820-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 838px) 100vw, 838px\" \/><figcaption>Wisdom Williams stands in front of her shotput score at the 2021 State Championships.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Her favorite part of track and field, she said, is the team, \u201cAt first track was just a sport&#8230;but now I can&#8217;t even imagine my life without it, my coach, and teammates.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has set high expectations for herself, in and out of track, which has allowed her to become greater, she said, \u201cIn track and field being the best ever is what motivates me, I have huge goals and am always trying to work towards them and in life it\u2019s very similar.
