The Titan Express, located to the left of quiet dining, was renovated over the summer. Differing from the previous Titan Express, instead of a traditional lunch line students will be able to pick and choose the parts of lunch they want.

The new Titan Express is open every day from 9:28 to 9:55 a.m. for second chance breakfast, during all lunch blocks and from 3:15 to 3:45 for the after-school dinner program, which begins the first week of October.

The Titan Express also includes snacks available for students who are not interested in breakfast food. The purpose of the convenience store is to provide more of an independent and modern experience for students. Campus Administrator Carmen Sanders said, “It is perfect for students who may not want a complete meal for lunch because they can grab and go.”

This year’s Titan Express will be more of an independent experience. It will be more like going to a convenience store because it is self-serve. Sanders describes it as an “a la carte approach.’’ This provides the chance for students to purchase individual items, rather than paying for a set meal.

The new setup allows for anyone to get in and out quickly without having to wait in the long main lunch lines. Sophomore Noel Considine said, “I like how easy it is to get through the line.” This option is beneficial to students who bring lunch since they can now easily access the variety of drinks and snacks.

The complete meal can be purchased at the normal price of $3.05 while the individual pricing for snacks, food, and drinks is based on the item. The store serves bento boxes (cold meals) and hot items such as the popular chicken sandwich. The snacks do not differ from what is served at the regular lunch lines; however, there are new drink options such as La Croix and Ice. In addition to the new drinks, the store sells water, Gatorade, and Switch.

Staff and students like the new look. On the first day the line wrapped around the corner of quiet dining. Sanders said her favorite part of the store is, “The total redo! It is more modern and looks like a store and brings in the Titan design.”

“The store looks much different from last year. I like the modern look,” Senior Dont’a Boykin said.

A new student lunch line in the cafeteria was opened this school year on September 10.
