As seniors plan for college and their future, juniors dread college applications and SATs; as sophomores adjust to harder classes and the main campus, freshman are getting used to the high school experience; everyone has something to work on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy resolution for next year is to hopefully get into a good college,\u201d says Eli Norman, a senior. \u201cI\u2019m thinking of either going to Hampton or Radford University.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sophomore Ben Janusz said, \u201cI am most excited for playing more soccer and having colleges look at me. \u00a0I will be playing JV for another year, but our club team will be going to a bunch of college showcases all around the East coast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Story Everett, a junior, said, \u201cI just hope that I will be able to better myself this year, and the bad things that happened in 2018&#8211;I will just let them go&#8211;and 2019 will be a fresh start for me\u2026[I\u2019m looking forward to] getting better grades.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junior CJ Chidlow, on the other hand, has very different goals. Chidlow said, \u201cI want to convince all my friends to become vegan, every one of them.\u201d Chidlow participates in a student organization called Project CURE (Community United for Renewable Energy). \u201cWe want to raise money for water bottle refilling stations [at T.C.].\u201d &nbsp;Their goal is $30,000 &#8212; \u201cit\u2019s very ambitious,\u201d CJ says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sophomore Ty\u2019Niah Carter wants to improve herself this year, saying, \u201cMy new year\u2019s resolution is to help people in need and make this school a better place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students have also formed many predictions for 2019. &nbsp;Ahmed Eldawah, a senior, said, \u201cMy prediction for next year is that the world\u2019s going to end. I\u2019m thinking [one major cause could be] nuclear destruction probably, but global warming is a close second.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOne prediction [I have for 2019] is Trump getting impeached,\u201d said Tony Reese. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although a lot of people end up not following through with new year\u2019s resolutions, T.C. students in general think having a positive mindset walking into the new year is what is most important. <br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cMy resolution is to let go of toxic people&#8230;and then detox with some more water&#8211;let this acne go as well,\u201d said senior Kayla Harley.<br \/>\nWith a new year comes new resolutions from T.C. students and predictions for the coming year.
