{"id":984,"date":"2016-03-11T13:05:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-11T18:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/staff\/?p=984"},"modified":"2016-03-11T14:39:05","modified_gmt":"2016-03-11T19:39:05","slug":"chemistry-teachers-apply-for-6000-in-scholarships-and-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/staff\/chemistry-teachers-apply-for-6000-in-scholarships-and-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Chemistry Teachers: Apply for $6,000 in Scholarships and Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ACPS is seeking chemistry teachers as applicants for scholarship and grant opportunities worth up to $6,000 from the American Chemical Society.<\/p>\n<p>Any ACPS Chemistry teacher is eligible to apply for any of the following scholarships and grants to fund a creative classroom project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/funding-and-awards\/scholarships\/hachsecondcareer.html\">ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarships<\/a><\/strong> are awarded to professionals in the chemistry field pursuing a master\u2019s degree in education or becoming certified as a chemistry\/science teacher. Please view\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/funding-and-awards\/scholarships\/hachsecondcareer\/hachscholarshipapply.html\">application and instructions<\/a> to apply for this scholarship.\n<ul>\n<li>To be eligible, you must:\n<ul>\n<li>Have a Bachelor\u2019s degree or higher in chemistry or chemistry-related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Have at least one year work experience in a chemistry-related profession<\/li>\n<li>Cannot have more than one year experience as a high school chemistry teacher<\/li>\n<li>Be accepted into an education master\u2019s program or teacher certification program<\/li>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/funding-and-awards\/scholarships\/acs-hach-baccalaureate-teacher-scholarship.html\">ACS-Hach Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Scholarships<\/a><\/strong> are awarded to recent graduates, graduate students and post-doctoral professionals with limited work experience and an interest in pursuing a teaching career at the secondary or post-secondary level.\u00a0Please\u00a0view the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/funding-and-awards\/scholarships\/acs-hach-baccalaureate-teacher-scholarship\/acs-hach-post-baccalaureate-teacher-scholarship-application.html\">application and instructions<\/a> to apply for his scholarship\n<ul>\n<li>To be eligible, you must:\n<ul>\n<li>Have a bachelor\u2019s degree or higher in chemistry or chemistry-related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Have less than one year work experience outside of obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate an interest and commitment to becoming a secondary educator<\/li>\n<li>Be accepted into an education master\u2019s program or teacher certification program<\/li>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/funding-and-awards\/grants\/hachhighschool.html\">ACS-Hach High School Chemistry Classroom Grants<\/a><\/strong> of up to $1,500 are available for high school chemistry teachers.
