There is a role for all of us as we shape policies that affect students and make school decisions under the Every Student Succeeds Act.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Join us on Thursday, November 29 at 4 p.m. in the George Washington Middle School Media Center for a one-hour workshop<\/strong> to learn more about ESSA and what it means for your school. John Riley, a Senior Analyst from the National Education Association Education Policy and Practice Department, will join us to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Share the resources for the multi-tiered support system that NEA provides for teachers<\/li>\n<li>Provide ideas on professional development and accountability<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an expectation on accountability and action for positive change in our highest poverty schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By the end of the session, participants will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>understand the history of ESSA<\/li>\n<li>make connections around improvements in student achievement through professional development<\/li>\n<li>share de-escalation strategies and behavior management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This session is best suited for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teachers<\/li>\n<li>Administrators<\/li>\n<li>Paraprofessionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Questions?
