Nominate them for a Champion of Children Award through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alexandriava.gov\/CYFCC\">Children, Youth and Families Collaborative Commission<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The award seeks to recognize individuals who strive\u00a0to improve the well-being of children and families through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fostering partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrating strategic thinking and leadership<\/li>\n<li>Promoting service access or best practices<\/li>\n<li>Creatively addressing challenges<\/li>\n<li>Working to implement policy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Awards will be given in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Health and safety<\/li>\n<li>Academic success and career readiness<\/li>\n<li>Social connection, emotional security and cultural competence<\/li>\n<li>Families empowered to support the well-being of children<\/li>\n<li>Systems and institutions that are responsive, coordinated and effective in service to families<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you know someone\u00a0who is an amazing ally and advocate for children and families, <a href=\"https:\/\/survey.alexandriava.gov\/s3\/ChampionsofChildrenAwards\">nominate them today<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 12.
