This week\u2019s highlighted courses:<\/h2>\n

Crisis Prevention and Intervention<\/strong> (Refresher)
\nParticipants will get a refresher in the techniques and skills previously learned about the Crisis Prevention and Intervention methodology of crisis prevention emphasizing early intervention and non-physical methods for managing disruptive behavior. Participants also receive an update of the skills required for restraint positions, transport techniques and team strategies. #14496\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Human Sexuality for Educators<\/strong>
\nThe Alexandria City School Board requires all teachers who deliver the Family Life Education curriculum to complete the course “Sexuality Education for Educators.” The course focuses on self-assessment, contemporary issues in human development and the value structures that produce our personal and professional thinking. Human sexuality remains a confusing and largely silent issue in our culture. This course provides an opportunity to develop a philosophy that fits both professional focus and personal comfort. Teachers review and work cooperatively with colleagues using actual Family Life Education lessons and teaching materials. #12549\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coping Strategies for Anxious Children<\/strong>
\nThe goal of this workshop is to give parents practical tools and strategies to help their children manage their anxiety and stress, change anxious thinking and build resilience. #14572
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

CPR\/AED\/First Aid Certification<\/strong>
\nThis course will provide the participant with Emergency Care and Safety Institute certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED (automated external defibrillator) and First Aid. #12673\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
