While our families enjoy Thanksgiving break from Wednesday, November 22 through Sunday, November 26, we’ll reflect on the things for which we are grateful.<\/p>\n

For many, the\u00a0list may include time with family and friends, a roof over your head, a bed in which to sleep and food to eat. But, what many may\u00a0take\u00a0for granted, may be a luxury to others.<\/p>\n

Let’s give thanks this holiday season by getting involved and by taking advantage of some of the great events that our City has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"ThanksgivingGet fit and give back on Thankgiving\u00a0morning\u2014lace up your running shoes for the 42nd Annual Turkey Trot<\/a> <\/strong>in Del Ray. Burn off some extra calories before Thanksgiving dinner and support ALIVE!<\/a>. Bring any nonperishable food item (cans, boxes) on race day or make a cash donation when you register to help those in need this holiday season.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"ThanksgivingCelebrate #GivingTuesday on November 28!<\/strong> Alexandria’s Carpenter Shelter will be participating in this national movement by raising money to support the medical clinic where doctors and nurses volunteer. \"ThanksgivingJoin ALIVE!<\/a>\u00a0for their 3rd Annual Empty Bowls Alexandria<\/strong> on Saturday, November 18! All proceeds from this event go towards providing food, shelter, emergency help and education for at-risk Alexandrians.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
