Williams High School. Williams High School on<br \/>\nTuesday, November 28 from 6 &#8211; 7 p.m.<br \/>\nin the Rotunda at the TC Williams King Street campus.<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p class=\"p1\">The academy will the launch biomedical informatics pathway in fall 2018, followed by four additional pathways\u2014sports medicine, pharmacy, emergency medical services and medical laboratory sciences\u2014that will launch over the next four years. View the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">complete list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/cms\/lib\/VA01918616\/Centricity\/Domain\/848\/ACPS%20-%20GWU%20Health%20Sciences%20Academy%20Pathways.pdf\">pathway options<\/a> available.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">GW faculty will work collaboratively with faculty from T.C. to broaden and enrich the offerings for the students. Currently, T.C. offers a nursing and surgical technology pathway in its Health and Medical Sciences Department.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">The launch of this new partnership will have a tremendous impact on our students who are interested in pursuing further education and careers in health sciences. They\u2019ll benefit from specialized, project-based courses that help develop critical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills while also preparing them for the workplace. Our students who complete the program will be well-equipped to pursue high-demand, high-wage, high-skills health sciences careers,\u201d said T.C. Williams High School Principal Peter Balas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">Through this collaboration, students can begin earning college credits in their first year of the program, which could be as early as grade nine and they will have the ability to receive up to 22 college credits from the GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Williams&#8217; Health &amp; Medical Sciences Academy student, takes notes during a lecture.<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">Students who successfully complete an academy pathway will be offered guaranteed admissions to the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and will also be eligible for scholarships. Those who go on to pursue a degree will reduce the amount of time it takes to complete their degree and the associated costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The first Academy class will be offered in fall of 2018. Students will be able to apply online in early February 2018.
