Hammond Middle School has become one of only 650 schools in the United States to be designated a \u2018Model Program\u2019 by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).<\/p>\n<p>The school\u2019s program was recognized for it&#8217;s commitment to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment in line with the goals of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/board\/strategic-plan\/strategic-plan.php\">ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan<\/a>. Hammond joins George Washington Middle School as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) school. GW was the first ACPS school to receive the national designation in 2016.<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This designation demonstrates the school counseling department&#8217;s professional commitment to work together to meet the unique needs of every student at Hammond. It is the result of hard work and genuine commitment by an awesome team,&#8221; said ACPS Director of School Counseling Marcia Jackson.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-content post-content\">\n<p>Hammond&#8217;s ten school counselors provide classroom lessons, group counseling, and individualized supports to students in grades 6 through 8. The Hammond team is made up of <span class=\"s1\">Nicole Alestock, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Christina Bevilacqua, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Nicole Bonds, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Erica Daniels, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Cassandra Jackson, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Katie Migliorini, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Brent Rademacher, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Kidist Square, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Charrissa Washington and Hammond Hammond Director of School Counseling, Dene\u00e9 Scott.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is an honor to have earned this RAMP designation. It represents the dedication and commitment of our hard-working counseling team to our students and families each and every day,&#8221; said\u00a0Hammond Director of School Counseling, Dene\u00e9\u00a0Scott.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2478 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-26-at-2.50.59-PM.png\" alt=\"Hammond Counseling Team Celebrates\" width=\"450\" height=\"451\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content post-content\">\n<p>ASCA supports school counselors\u2019 efforts to help students focus on academic, career, and social and emotional development so they not only achieve success in school but are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-content post-content\">\n<blockquote><p>This year\u2019s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession, These schools used data to drive their program development and implementation so all students can achieve success.
